Undergraduate Funding

Undergraduate Funding

Funding your undergraduate degree has never been easier.

All UK/EU citizens who are studying an undergraduate degree for the first time are eligible for financial support from Student Finance England. You could receive a Tuition Fee Loan to cover the cost of your programme fees, and a Maintenance Loan which helps you with your living costs.

How to apply for a student loan

You can apply online using the Student Finance website. The process can take over four weeks, so it’s best to apply as soon as you know you will be studying at GSM London.

There are a number of options for funding, depending on your circumstances. All eligible students can apply for a:

Tuition Fee Loan

Paid directly to GSM London by Student Finance England to cover the cost of your programme. You will start repaying this loan only once you complete your studies and are earning a minimum of £21,000, at a small rate of 9% on any earnings above £21,000.

Maintenance Loan

Paid into your bank to help you cover your living costs while studying. The amount that you will receive is based upon your household income. The loan is repayable, which means that after you graduate and are earning over £21,000 you will begin making repayments, at the same rate as the Tuition Fee Loan.

Student finance Wales and Northern Ireland

If you are a student from Northern Ireland and would like to attend a course within a private institution in London, you should be aware that for certain private institutions, you will not receive the full tuition fee loan support to cover your tuition fees. The fees that are awarded by Student finance NI for private institutions are £3805.

You will be responsible for funding the difference in the additional cost of your tuition fees. Students who are from Wales, they need to apply through Student Finance Wales for their student finance, regardless of where they’re studying in the UK or if they hold a UK Passport.

However because we are a private institution, Student Finance Wales will not fund the course as we do not have the designation on the High Education Institution (HEI) database.

Other funding may be available if you:

  • are from a low income background
  • have children
  • care for an adult dependent
  • have a mental health condition or disability

Self-funding students

If a loan from Student Finance England is not for you, you have the option to pay for the programme yourself. At GSM London, all undergraduate students can pay for their studies through an interest-free payment plan. Get in touch with one of our student finance advisors to find out more.
