There are two levels of this exciting, real-world course.
The first level of the course will give you a basic overview of the airline industry, and is ideal for those looking to gain the skills and qualifications to pursue a career in the airline or travel industries.
The second part of the course is for students who have passed Level One, (or its equivalent), to gain further knowledge of air travel, plus a second IATA qualification. This course will enable you to become proficient in complex fare construction and ticketing procedures. These are important skills in the field of travel management.
All the necessary reference materials and professional manuals will be provided, allowing you to follow the course with ease.
The course is suitable both for complete beginners and those who have experience within the aviation industry.

How is this course structured?
Define IATA geographical areas and Global Routing Indicators
Interpret airline codings, ticket and fare types
Select the lowest applicable fare for point to point itineraries
Calculate fares applying the fundamental principles of the mileage system
Construct fares using NUCs and the IATA rates of exchange
Construct fares for multi-sector journeys, applying the mileage system, higher intermediate points and minimum fare checks
Apply add-ons to construct unpublished fares
Calculate fares for journeys with side trips and for different classes of travel
Complete automated and manual fare calculation areas

English Language requirements
If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate the following levels of proficiency in English language:
- Cambridge IELTS (Academic Test): 6.0 or above (no less than 5.5. in any skill and no less than 6.0 in the Reading and Writing skills for all Law related programmes)
- Cambridge English (Advanced): Grade C or above (no less than 'weak' for any skill)
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): 55 or above (No less than 51 in any skill and no less than 56 in the Reading and Writing skills for all Law related programmes)
If you do not hold an English language qualification, you can study the IELTS English course at our Greenford Campus.
