Staff and Students in the local Community
Community has always been important for GSM London, a value shared amongst our staff and students. Over the past couple months, members of the GSM London body have been involved in the organisation and promotion of events for the local area.
Ealing Free Film Festival
Lecturer Hope Flynn, with the support of Marketing student Philip Pryce, have been working on creating a free film festival in London’s film capital of Ealing. The event will be held over a 2 day period on Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July 2017. It will be taking place in an outdoor location, and welcomes viewers all ages. Ealing Free Film Festival will be screening the classic comedy ‘The Ladykillers’ (1955) and the iconic musical ‘Dreamgirls’. Celebrating Ealing’s known heritage for film and performing arts. Let’s take the best of film projects from our local area, and make them happen here where we live!
Our students have also been involved in the organisation of Greenford’s annual carnival. They are hoping to help the community start their summer with a bang at this extravaganza!
The aim of the carnival is to bring together the community to celebrate cultural diversity, various businesses and a variety of strengths and talents possessed by individual members of society. We invite you to join our students and members of your community to enjoy one of the largest event dates on the Ealing calendar.
What can we expect at Greenford Carnival?
There will be performances from big names, as well as a wide range of activities for all ages including children – a dog show, a carnival parade, funfair, plus a wide range of stalls and food from varrious cultures. At its peak the carnival is expected to reach attendance levels of 7,000-10,000 people.
We look forward to seeing you at this fun and exciting event, supporting GSMLondon students in the community and celebrating cultural diversity on July 8th 2017. If you are interested in participating please email email@example.com for further information.
