Trainee accountant suspended over improper social media use

A trainee accountant has been suspended from her position due to the improper use of social networks, it has been confirmed.

The situation escalated incredibly quickly after 21-year-old Emma Way knocked down a cyclist while driving. The injured party, 29-year-old Toby Hockley, has accused her of poor driving after she hit his handlebars and caused him to career into a hedge.

It could have been a minor problem had Way not boasted about her actions on her Twitter account, writing a tweet saying: “definitely knocked a cyclist off his bike earlier – I have right of way he doesn’t even pay road tax #bloodycyclists.” After her actions have made national news and caused her to be suspended from her job, Way has given a full apology to Hockley over fears the incident could damage her career.

It is a lesson of the behaviours which workers should adopt in terms of use of social media, an area which is becoming increasingly important in human resource management.
