Chill out in one of London’s most relaxing beer gardens

Whilst there can be no denying that anyone who takes up a course at our London HE college will be basing their education in a very busy city, there are still plenty of opportunities for our students to sit back and relax when they want to. Each corner of the capital is dotted with great pubs which give guests the chance to sit back and enjoy a drink outdoors during the warmer months, and a few of our favourites are listed below.

The beer garden at the intriguingly named Faltering Fullback in Finsbury Park is one of the most innovative you will find anywhere, acting as the perfect complement to the pub’s delicious Thai menu. Although it is tucked away in a pretty small space, the Fullback’s owners were determined to take advantage of its backyard being an afternoon suntrap, so decided to build up, with the garden divided into several separate levels of seating.

Herne Hill’s Florence bar is known for its excellent selection of beer, including a couple which are brewed by the pub owners themselves. There are also helpful taster notes on the pumps letting visitors learn more about their tipples, as well as a dedicated bar in the spacious beer garden. There is also a children’s room, which means that your peace and quiet is unlikely to be disrupted by any younger guests!

A great success story in the increasingly trendy borough of Hackney, the Scolt Head has recently been transformed into a buzzing modern gastropub which benefits from a versatile selection of food and drinks. Whether you’re studying human resource management or accounting, we know that all our students need some time to relax, and the Scolt Head allows you to do this outdoors whatever the weather; a huge umbrella that covers most of the roadside garden gives you the chance to sit back and watch the world go by, even when it decides to rain.
