The British security services firm G4S have confirmed the appointment of Himanshu Raja as their new finance chief, a move which is hoped will offer an air of positivity for the troubled security group.
The firm were under scrutiny last year, with the failure to provide enough cover for the London Olympic Games putting a considerable dent in their reputation. When speaking about the appointment, the new G4S chief executive Ashley Almanza said the firm will benefit from Mr Raja’s “considerable experience in leading global finance organisations and driving improvements in financial performance and control”.
Joining G4S from the financial software provider Misys, Mr Raja has also previously worked in reorganising the balance sheets of Logica and BT Global Services during times of financial worries.
Sure to interest those currently working in the finance industry, or indeed those studying for finance degrees, the work ahead for Mr Raja is a clear indication of how experts in the industry can help turn company’s finances around the better.
