Paul graduated from Cardiff University and Exeter University. He taught History in the 11 – 18 sector and gained commercial experience within Cable & Wireless and Deloitte. He then joined the London Borough of Newham and set up the Stratford City Education Project to embed employability skills within the school curriculum. More recently he has managed a student recruitment team promoting the ACCA Qualification across UK Universities whilst completing his MA in Intercultural Communications at Birkbeck University. Paul is an Employability Consultant working with the Faculty of Business & Management.
In his role as a Careers Adviser John brings a wealth of experience from the IT industry, having spent over 28 years at IBM UK in a wide variety of Sales, Marketing and latterly Graduate Recruitment roles. John is well versed in the challenges that face the recently graduated jobseeker seeking work both in the UK, and across international borders. Most recently he has contrasted this experience with a consultancy role within a family business.
Chris studied Sociology at the University of Sheffield. He then went to Japan on the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) programme. Upon returning to the UK, Chris worked within the education sector across a range of both large and small organisations such as the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Pearson Education (UK). He is currently the Employability Consultant at GSM London for the Faculty of Social Sciences & Technology, and enjoys supporting students with their employability and progression.
Chris, Paul and John have all recently joined the GSM Careers team and are available for one-to-one advice and guidance as well as being actively involved in delivering employability seminars across both campuses. Say hello when you see them!
