Over 70 students attended the first Your Career. Sorted event held on 29th November 2013 in Greenwich. In response to overwhelming popular demand, GSM Careers are proud to announce a further opportunity for all our students to attend a repeat of this highly successful event in Greenford on Wednesday 29th January 2014, 10am- 1pm. .
We urge you to join us for a morning focused on developing your career and sort out your career with this FREE event.
In the Your Career. Sorted! Seminar there will be three sessions run by our team of experts including former graduate recruiters (IBM and ACCA) and careers professionals. Learn how to approach your career development strategy in an interactive setting and gain the confidence to maximise ‘brand you’ in this competitive job market.
John Liberty will lead on Navigating the Job Market. John has over 28 years of experience in IBM where he has had a variety of roles from sales to graduate recruitment and knows what employers look for in applicants. John will navigate you through the latest channels of recruitment employers use to connect with job seekers. At the end of his session you will have identified the correct strategy that will work for you.
Paul Cannons will lead on Beating the Competition. Paul has a background in commerce and graduate recruitment with ACCA. He has worked across the UK university sector and encountered many able graduates who fail to understand the commercial world. Paul will outline some of the mistakes graduates make with their applications and give you some tools to apply to ensure your application stands out from the competition, increasing your chance of an interview.
Chris Naughton will lead on Winning Interview Techniques. Chris has worked in a range of small and large organisations and views interviews as your chance to sell your unique skills as a brand. Chris will give you all the advice you need to get the right ‘mind set’ before, during and after your interview. At the end of this workshop you will be able to approach your interview with confidence and a more positive frame of mind.
By attending this seminar, you will emerge with invaluable insights into the sophisticated recruitment methods being used by employers and the confidence to make applications with impact that engage the attention of graduate recruiters.
An event not to missed – as one delegate who attended all three sessions in Greenwich put it ‘very insightful and helpful. Provides you with great tools for making the next steps to secure a job’.
