Enhancing the students’ employability is a key priority for our Accounting and Finance Faculty. That’s why, alongside teaching the core subject knowledge, there is a focus on the wider professional requirements. This includes introducing students to the financial accrediting bodies and helping them to understand the next steps after their degree.
The Accounting and Finance Panel Question Time event is designed to help achieve that wider focus. It is an opportunity for students to meet a panel comprised of the financial accrediting bodies, including ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) and ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). Students can also find out:
- what exemptions the accrediting bodies will give them due to subject matter already covered in our degree;
- gain insight into the wide range of resources available to support employability and increase commercial awareness; and
- how previous experience can give them career recognition in the workplace.
At the end there will be a Question and Answer session to discuss points raised and informal networking.
Paul Cannons, Faculty Employability Consultant said: ‘The event will help students with the next steps in their career. It is an opportunity to meet the accrediting bodies and to discuss, face-to-face, the options available to them and their future career path’.
