Why study Enterprise and Small Business Development?
Business degrees are among some of the most sought-after courses – both by prospective students and employers. They are reassuringly broad, and always relevant. GSM London’s BSc (Hons) Enterprise and Small Business Development degree covers all the traditional business modules, as well as focusing on the entrepreneurial spirit. If you are looking to set up your own business, or to develop a company you are already running, then this course is ideal for you.
Led by lecturers with industry experience, this is one of the few specialist business management degrees in London where students are specifically taught how to turn their ideas into a successful enterprise.
Dr Yaz Osho, Programme Leader on Enterprise and Small Business Development says:
“My academic and research experience of black and minority ethnic (BME) entrepreneurs has enabled me to understand GSM London’s student body. I truly understand the needs of student entrepreneurs and some of the common issues they face. The industry experience I have gained has allowed me to efficiently contextualise material thus making lessons easier for my students to comprehend.”
Using case studies, project work and by networking with business leaders, you will gain skills that can be applied across a wide range of sectors. You will also be taken through all the key aspects of the industry, from human resources and social responsibility, to finance and technology, and all that is in between.
What our students say?
“The course has made me think more proactively about my dream of having my own business. The lecturers really go the extra mile and the support from Formation Zone is incredible,” says Samuel Ojo, Enterprise and Small Business Development student.

Learning resources at GSM London: The Formation Zone
Senior lecturer Paul Moran says: “We try and develop this entrepreneurial attitude, but also to get students to explore different options, different alternatives.
“To back that up we have a Formation Zone within GSM London, which provides dedicated one to one support, accessing external sources of support for the business, providing some incubation facilities and we tend to put a big emphasis on the idea of experience exchange, where businesses talk to each other and learn from each other.”
