Salary: : £51 per session for a 2¼ hr exam, £63 per session for a 3¼ hr exam (equivalent to £12 per hour); a
Status: Casual Worker, variable hours
Location: Greenford and Greenwich Sites with flexibility to work at external venues

About the role

GSM London is seeking a committed professional to supervise examinations and a small team of invigilators. The role will report directly to the OSCAR Manager (Assessments and Appeals). Examination sessions run in January, May and August to September yearly. The dates for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 academic year are: 27 August 2019 – 13 September 2019 and 6 January-24 January 2020. There will be ad hoc examinations running outside these dates.

 The key purposes of this role is to maintain the integrity of College examinations, ensuring that these are conducted in compliance with GSM London’s examinations related regulations and policy, and instructions issued by members of the Examination and Assessment Team.

To be successful you will need to have experience of examination invigilation in an education environment, and demonstrate an understanding of the examination processes. You will have the ability to work without supervision and to work effectively and supportively in a team. You will need to understand and maintain confidentiality at all times, be able to give clear and accurate instructions, and have a flexible approach to work, that may often be under the pressure of tight deadlines.  A willingness to undertake training is essential, as is the ability to commit to undertaking work during the examination sessions.
