Salary: Up to £45k depending on qualifications and experience

About The Role

You will take a leadership role within GSM’s academic community; this involves responsibility for managing and leading the BSc Health and Social Care with Management programme within GSM and its’ associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation by relevant professional institutions where appropriate).  You will also provide operational management support of the MSc Leading and Managing in Health and Social Care as the programme grows and develops.  You will work with your Head of Department and other colleagues to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with GSM’s education strategy and broader aims for an outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to teaching in one or more of the disciplinary areas in the College and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the College.

We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Lecturer to join our growing Human Resources, Management and Health department.

To be a successful Programme Leader candidate, you will be able to demonstrate that you have sound experience in the following:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of own specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the health and social care field.
  • Have experience of teaching, curriculum development and quality management and enhancement in an HE environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a range of groups.
  • Able to identify potential sources of funding
  • Able to participate in and develop external networks.
  • Be able to demonstrate independent and self-managing working styles
  • Have good knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector
  • Be able to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
