Programme Leader – Enterprise and Small Business

Salary: Up to £41,000, depending on experience
Status: Permanent, Full-time

About the role

An exciting senior lecturer role as Programme Leader for the BSC Enterprise and Small Business Development has arisen at GSM London. As a successful candidate, you will take a leadership role within GSM’s academic community; this involves responsibility for managing and leading the BSc Enterprise and Small Business Development programme within GSM and its associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation by relevant professional institutions where appropriate).  You will work with your Head of Department and other colleagues to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with GSM’s education strategy and broader aims for outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to teaching in one or more of the disciplinary areas in the College and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the College. You will be joining a department that has a strong ethos of delivering learning that enables the student to explore theory in practice and which enables students to develop real-world outcomes through the application of their academic study.

To be a successful Programme Leader (senior lecturer) candidate, you will be able to demonstrate that you have sound experience and abilities in the following:

  • An understanding of own specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field of entrepreneurship and small business development.
  • Incorporating experiential learning into teaching delivery.
  • Teaching, curriculum development and quality management and enhancement in an HE environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communication of complex and conceptual ideas to a range of groups.
  • Identifying potential sources of funding
  • Participation in and developing external networks.
  • Independent and self-managing working styles

Good knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector

Be able to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
